November Meeting
Our November meeting will be deferred until slightly later in the
month pending the return to the Northern Hemisphere of our speaker.
In view of the importance of the topic, Micro-chipping, to all
members we have decided to defer the meeting and possibly even
change the venue if numbers dictate until this specialist speaker
returns.
As soon as venue and exact details become available they will be
circulated.
Brecon Fair & Sale
Brecon Fair & Sale will be held this Saturday (15th November) at
Brecon Livestock Market commencing at 1000.
Further information can be found at the auctioneer’s web-site -

Christmas Dinner 2008
Following feedback from members about the unsuitability of a
mid-week Christmas Dinner, this year’s Christmas Dinner has reverted
to a Saturday night, 6th December.
Please find enclosed menu’s with Booking Forms overleaf (don’t worry
too much about making a note of what you order I’ll make sure I’ve
got your Orders on the evening).
The venue remains the same for this year, The Grove Golf Club in
South Cornelly, (CF33 4RP for those reliant on sat-nav or directions
available at
www.grovegolf.com/directions.php) but if members have
any suggestions for venues for future years please make them known
or put them on the bottom of your booking forms.
Foal & Yearling Show 2008
We held our annual Foal & Yearling Show in Pencoed College on Sunday
2nd November 2008; this was a slightly revised format – for the
first time we didn’t include 2/3 year old classes. I didn’t feel
this detracted from the Show but would be interested in members
feedback.
Please find full results overleaf; congratulations to Miss B. Hooper
who took the Supreme Championship with the palamino Colt Foal Ceulan
Calon Lan judged jointly by both judges Ms. L. Davies (Maybrook) and
Ms. R. Batt (Abergavenny) to whom we are very grateful.
Thanks too to all those who helped out on the day especially our
Show Secretary (Mary Manchip) who, as always, made sure everything
ran smoothly.
Gwent Foal Show 2008
As the result of the clash of dates with Brecon Fair and Sale, Gwent
Area WPCA have decided to cancel their Foal Show for this year only.
It is anticipated the Show will take place again in 2009 when your
support will be appreciated.
